(Long Beach, CA) 11 January 2003 --
OMBAC came out strong from the opening whistle gaining territorial
and possession advantage for the first 5 minutes of the game -
resulting in a penalty kick before Belmont ever even touched the
ball. After that though, Belmont recollected and dominated the
remainder of the 1st half scoring 3 tries for a 21 point halftime
lead. OMBAC improved in the 2nd half scoring a few tries of their
own, but in pressing to catch up they left Belmont with several
countering opportunities off of turnover ball. The final score
was 17-59.
With only one week of practice
under their belts, the team could have performed worse. Better
reports are sure to follow as Joe begins implementing his coaching
plan. |
