In a hard fought match between OMBAC and Back Bay,
OMBAC was able to even its record to 2-2.
Four minutes into the game OMBAC was able to take a 3-0 lead when
flyhalf Dave Di Sorbo kicked his first penalty goal of the
afternoon. Back Bay came right back 3 minutes later when their
flyhalf Matt Busco kicked a penalty goal.
At 15 minutes of the first half, Back Bay fullback Jason Raven
scored under the posts, Busco converted. For much of the remainder
of the half Back Bay remained in the OMBAC half, but could not
score. With two minues left in the half OMBAC's Disorbo slotted a
40m penalty kick bringing the half time score to OMBAC 6 - Back Bay
10.
Di Sorbo picked up where he left off, kicking his third penanlty of
the afternoon at 8 minutes of the second half. Fourteen minutes
later OMBAC scored their first try of the afternoon with Di Sorbo
scoring the 5 pointer, but failed to make the conversion.
Back Bay was able to close to within 1 point when Bosco kicked his
second penealty of the game at 25 minutes.
After numerous scrums at the Back Bay 5m line OMBAC's Captain Eric
Stewart was able to touch down at 32 minutes, DiSorbo converted.
Over the next 8 minutes both Back Bay and OMBAC moved the ball well,
finally Back Bay was able to get an overlap and flanker Brian
Surgeuer touched down in the right hand corner on the last play of
the game, Bosco could not convert.
